Abu Dhabi renews call for diplomacy and restraint
ABU DHABI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of a Pakistani national who died as a result of Iranian attacks, reaffirming its full solidarity with the victim’s relatives.
The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions following missile strikes that targeted the UAE and several neighbouring countries. Authorities also reiterated that targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure is unequivocally condemned under international humanitarian standards.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned what it described as blatant Iranian missile attacks, calling them a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The ministry emphasised that the UAE stands in full solidarity with countries affected by the attacks, stressing that the security of regional states is indivisible and that any infringement on one nation’s sovereignty threatens the stability of the wider region.
Officials reaffirmed the country’s categorical rejection of using regional territories as arenas for settling disputes or expanding conflict. The statement warned of the grave consequences of continued violations, noting their potential to undermine regional and international security as well as global economic and energy stability.
The UAE also renewed its call for restraint and serious diplomatic engagement to defuse tensions, describing dialogue as the most effective path to overcoming the current crisis and preserving regional stability.
At the same time, the ministry underscored that the UAE retains its full and legitimate right to respond to the attacks in a manner that safeguards its sovereignty, national security and territorial integrity in accordance with international law, stressing that the country will not tolerate any compromise to its security under any circumstances.
